Today's copywriting tutorial works on the idea that if you can create emotion in your reader you can get them to buy. My favorite way of writing copy is to remind them of a smell or a feeling that is universal like "the smell of cut grass" or "the last day of school before summer vacation." Working on emotions from the good old days is an old school method of "soft selling". Our copywriting client today is Amy's Bean Bags... Home makeovers are really popular now and it is a very popular search term online. Amy's wants to tie the term "home makeover" into copy and convert them into visitors for her web site. Here's what I came up with.

Bean Bag Furniture Makeover

by Zane Durant

Put on your Iron Butterfly LP and get ready for Hot Pink Bean Bags again. Man, I remember when I was a kid back in the 60's and 70's I had a couple of bean bags in the corner of my room...next to the worst waterbed invented. If you moved one finger you were sea sick for sure. I'm not sure if was the waterbed that made me sick or the Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill.

I have been looking into changing my garage into a playroom / shack. The "shack in the back" so to speak; where kids are not allowed, and I can hang out with all the junk my wife hates . It has to scream 70's so I decided to look into paint and home decor which led me to this cool place to get bean bag chairs Amy's Bean Bags

My old bean bag chair was zebra print. It was right under the life-size velvet paintings I had of Jimmy Hendrix and Black Belt Jones. Somewhere along the line that chair and those awesome posters have disappeared. I have decided to find both the posters, the bean bag chair and another wavy waterbed for my shack. Amy's Bean Bags took care of the zebra print chair - now if I could only get those damn posters back. Anyone seen them lately?

My review of Amy's Bean Bags...Be assured of the quality of these bean bag chairs. They are triple stitched with double bottoms, and feature a child protective clamp on the zipper. They are made strong and durable in America and shipped factory direct to you. I give them a "totally groovy" rating of 4 stars.

In this paragraph above about Amy's Bean Bags I have put the web site name and product in the copy without hitting them over the head with it. The keywords in this copy were: home makeover, paint, home decor, bean bag, furniture, durable, and quality. By the way the chairs are awesome and so is my shack.
